CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE PRESENTATION

Join us for a free virtual presentation with guest speaker, Todd Eskelin!

Did you know we have multiple species of hummingbirds on the Kenai Peninsula? Please join us for a virtual presentation by Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Biologist Todd Eskelin. You may remember a previous Wildlife Wednesday presentation with Eskelin back in spring of 2021 discussing hummingbirds on the Kenai Peninsula. He has some fun updates to share! Have a follow-up conversation about the current and future status of Anna’s Hummingbird in Southcentral Alaska. Learn about Eskelin’s discoveries over the past four years of hummingbird field work, how you can invite hummingbirds to your home, and what the future may hold in a changing climate.

Eskelin’s professional interest in birds began at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. Since then he worked as the bander-in-charge at the fledgling Alaska Bird Observatory, trained banders during several temporary stints with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and established and operated MAPS stations for Denali National Park, Alaska Peninsula/Becharof National Wildlife Refuge and Izembek National Wildlife Refuge. He eventually settled at Kenai National Wildlife Refuge in 2001 where he continues to work as a Wildlife Biologist.

This event will be recorded for future viewing and will be accessible on our YouTube page.
