Join us for a three-day, Virtual Cook Inlet Belugapalooza happening Sept. 22-24th, 2020!
Open to the public via Zoom, this free ‘pop up’ virtual event will kick off with a beluga paint night and feature guest speakers from organizations that support the recovery of our critically endangered Cook Inlet belugas, including exciting cameos from our belugas themselves! Join us each evening (Alaska time) from the shores of Cook Inlet or wherever you are in the world to hear the latest updates on beluga activity, be the first to see exciting new beluga outreach media, connect with experts to ask questions, and learn how you can be a key participant in beluga conservation.
This 'pop up' virtual event is being co-hosted by Alaska Wildlife Alliance, Defenders of Wildlife, Beluga Whale Alliance, and other collaborating organizations.
Virtual Beluga Paint Night
Paint your own beluga at home with Defenders of Wildlife and local Alaskan artist Kari Becker! While painting, learn about beluga biology, what makes Cook Inlet belugas so special, and how you can help save them from the brink of extinction from Defenders of Wildlife's Alaska Marine Representative, Katy Bear Nalven. P.S. Make sure to grab supplies ahead of time, if you’re able!
