We’re back for our fourth fall monitoring season as part of the Alaska Beluga Monitoring Partnership (AKBMP)! YOU can learn about the local critically endangered Cook Inlet beluga population and be trained as a citizen scientist to collect information that is important for their conservation. The beluga monitoring season this fall will be from August 15th - late November 2022.
AWA hosts the Kenai and Kasilof River Sites. For more information about the partnership, where volunteering takes place, and how to become a volunteer, please visit AKBMP’s website.
Note: During the process of getting our season up and running, know that we are closely monitoring the ever-changing status of the pandemic and the safety of our volunteers is the greatest priority. Please reach out to learn more about our protocols.
