We’re back! Alaska Wildlife Alliance is part of the Alaska Beluga Monitoring Partnership (AKBMP), and we are starting our fourth fall monitoring season this August! YOU can learn about the local critically endangered Cook Inlet beluga population and be trained as a citizen scientist to collect information that is important for their conservation. AWA hosts the Kenai and Kasilof River Sites. The beluga monitoring season on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers this fall will be from August 15th - late November.
New Volunteers:
There will be a virtual volunteer orientation on Monday, August 8th at 6:00- 7:30pm AK time. This live volunteer orientation will be recorded, and anyone wanting to become a volunteer can watch the recording at their own convenience. If interested in signing up, please register here.
Returning Volunteers:
Please feel free to signup for the virtual or recorded orientation if you want a refresher. We deeply appreciate the positive comments and the helpful guidance you have provided to make our monitoring program better.
