Calling All Gift-Wrapping Aficionados (or just those who enjoy it)!
AWA is looking for volunteers to help us run a gift-wrapping station during the 2020 Holiday Market at the 49th State Brewing Company in downtown Anchorage. We will be offering free gift-wrapping services to patrons on December 12th and 13th from 12pm-6pm, with each volunteer shift lasting 2 hours. Of course, this is a fundraiser so donations for our amazing gift-wrapping skills will be greatly appreciated and all funds raised will go directly to fund AWA’s wildlife advocacy, research, and education projects.
We care about our volunteers!
For covid precautions, only two people maximum will be allowed to sign-up for a shift, and only if the two people are in the same household "bubble". We will provide hand-sanitizer, but please bring your own mask. Volunteers will be wrapping gifts at a table, distanced from holiday shoppers. A shopper who wants a gift wrapped will place the gift in an intermediary area, then step back. Once distanced, the wrapper will grab the gift; there will be no close contact between volunteers and shoppers. Masks are required for entrance into 49th State Brewing Co. and their staff will ensure that masks are worn and social distancing guidelines are followed. And although the Holiday Market takes place in the parking lot, you’ll be warm and cozy wrapping gifts inside the gift shop.
How to sign-up…
Thank you for your willingness to help AWA raise funds by wrapping presents! We need paper…wrapping paper that is.
49th State Brewing Co. will provide a table, scissors, and tape, but we must provide our own wrapping paper. Being a small nonprofit, we don’t want to spend our limited funds on items that won’t help wildlife. If you have a roll of wrapping paper you’d be willing to donate, we’d be very appreciative. Please contact Mandy at mandy@akwildlife.org, or call us at 907-917-9453, to see about options of getting it to us.
