Calling all (professional and amateur) Alaska wildlife photographers!
Do you have cool shots of Alaskan wildlife? Share them with the world and support our work!
Thirteen winning wildlife photos will be featured in our 2023 Wildlife Calendar. Each month features wildlife from Alaska with a description of the photographer and the scene. Submit up to 5 wildlife photos to nicole@akwildlife.org by midnight September 30th to participate. Alaska Wildlife Alliance (AWA) staff will vote on their favorite finalists considering photo quality, creativity, diversity of wildlife, and humor. The public will then vote for the winners via AWA’s Facebook page by October 9th!
September 15th- 30th: Open call to submit up to 5 Alaska wildlife photos to nicole@akwildlife.org. When you submit photos to the contest, you consent to and permit that those photographs may be used by Alaska Wildlife Alliance for any purpose, including educational and advertisement purposes, and in any medium, including print and electronic, forever and without limitation.
To submit your photos, here are some rules and guidelines:
Photographs must feature wildlife photographed in Alaska.
Photographs must be taken by yourself or of someone close to you with permission- no Google or copywrite images!
Photographs must be a high resolution and in a landscape style (photographs will be oriented in a landscape for the calendar and will be printed for a large calendar size, so high-quality images are preferred).
Include your name and a brief description or story of your photo and where it was taken (no more than 2-3 sentences).
AWA will receive usage rights for winning photographs. These photographs will be considered donations and will be used for future AWA promotional purposes. Photographer credit will be given during use.
October 3rd- 9th: Finalist photos get voted upon via AWA’s Facebook page. Share with your followers! Photos with the most “likes” win.
October 10th: Thirteen winners are announced via social media (Facebook and Instagram) and email.
Winners get two free calendars and the opportunity to share their wonderful photographs with the world! AWA uses the calendar sales to raise money for our work protecting Alaska’s wildlife and to thank our members. You will be a part of ensuring Alaska’s wildlife continues to run wild.
We like to see diversity of wildlife in your photo submissions. Bear and moose photographs are quite popular, so we encourage submitting photos that reflect the amazing diversity of wildlife that is within the state of Alaska!
Thank you, and good luck!
